Passing Wendy’s on the way home from the park this afternoon, I suddenly had an irresistible urge for a milkshake. So, I came home and browsed some online recipes.

I combined a few and improvised to make a yummy milkshake without mess or much time or hassle, and, of course, with ingredients I already had on hand (i.e. not Hershey’s chocolate syrup).

It was delicious!

Salted Chocolate Milk

Combine in a tall cup:

  • scant 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • splash of vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 – 2 cups milk
  • pinch or two of sea salt

You could whisk this well, but I used my immersion blender, straight in my cup, to incorporate the powder into the milk.

  • splash of vanilla extract
  • 1/2-3/4 cup milk

Stick an immersion blender straight into the cup, and blend to combine.
