Pretty Birthday Girl!
Geneva turned one this weekend! We had her grandparents and half her aunts and uncles over for dinner after church on Sunday, and she learned what presents were. A little Christmas warm-up – for everyone. There was no shortage of helping hands for present opening.
Happy Reformation Day!
On October 31st we had a special Circle Time and read a picture book biography (I highly recommend it) on Martin Luther, sang “A Mighty Fortress,” and listened to and repeated several times Luther’s “to go against conscience is neither right nor safe” speech at the Diet of Worms – all while eating a diet of gummy worms.
It was a remarkably simple way to celebrate and also to earn Fun Mom(TM) points.
Funny, Real Preschool
My husband is taking down, moving, putting up fences on our property, so the young ones are doing what young ones should do: follow, watch, and “help.” It’s the best sort of preschool there is.

- Pam at Everyday Snapshots will be leading an ongoing series and link-ups on Living the Liturgy. She tells me Protestants are welcome, too. :)
In spite of what some people say, parenting does not follow a linear function, where “good” parenting in equals “good” child out. We are not machines and neither are our children. We mess up our anthropology and forget the sovereignty of God. He is God, we are not. […] Love your children well. Love your children the way the Father loves you.
