The first back-to-normality Monday of the year. And, for me, the first one in three months or more! 9 weeks ago I had my fifth little one by unexpected c-section, so between end-of-pregnancy weariness and c-section recovery, I have been out of routine for a long time.

So here’s to the first week of the new plan for the new year with the new baby! I have some great posts planned for the next few months, including progress updates on my healthy habits and also some homeschool hot-lunch ideas.

Menu Plan for January 7-12

  • Breakfast: oatmeal

  • Lunch: rolls, cheese cubes, apples

  • Dinner: black bean chili, red cabbage slaw, cornbread

  • Breakfast: eggs w/ toast or leftover oatmeal (made into porridge with milk)

  • Lunch: cheese pizza, apples

  • Dinner: roast chicken, roasted broccoli & cauliflower, whole wheat biscuits


Birthday Day!

  • Breakfast: birthday girl’s cold cereal of choice
  • Lunch: with friends

  • Dinner: birthday girl pick

  • Breakfast: German pancakes

  • Lunch: oven-baked brown rice w/ peas & carrots

  • Dinner: salmon pasta, salad

  • Breakfast: oatmeal

  • Lunch: cheese pizza, apples

  • Dinner: stirfry

  • Breakfast: pancakes

  • Lunch: bread & cheese

  • Dinner: baked potatoes & yams

All meals only involve ingredients on my basic master pantry list.
