To introduce you to the sort of encouragement and attitude-focus that Simplified Organization: Learning to Love What Must Be Done is founded on, I wanted to share the first audio lesson with you for free. This 15-minute MP3 will help you see how important it is to take control of your internal thoughts and speak truth to yourself. Not only that, it will give you the most effective strategy to do so that I have found. I think it’s a very powerful mindset for moms to adapt. It’s both inspiring and also practical.

Cease endlessly striving for what you would like to do and learn to love what must be done. – Goethe

The story you tell yourself about your life matters. Your positive thinking will not change the world or other people, but telling yourself the truth rather than lies will change you. In the Bible, God tells us about life and what it’s like, and it’s not all sweetness and light. One source of our frustration is the assumption that victory is having done everything completely and once for all, so that there is nothing left but to bask in ease and comfort. That isn’t going to happen, and it is that faulty expectation that fuels much of our frustration and discouragement.

When it comes to life, the critical thing is whether you take things for granted or take them with gratitude. – G.K. Chesterton

One member of Simplified Organization: Learning to Love What Must Be Done, Jill Farris, wrote to me after listening to this lesson:

You have a sweet voice so you are very easy to listen to and it is good, meaty encouragement! What beautiful insights and encouragement – just what I need to hear right now! Thank you.

I hope this segment of my self-paced organizational course will likewise encourage you and spur you on to grow not only in your ability to manage home and life well, but also your love of doing it.
